The Song: Sisyphus [Pronunciation{sis'-i-fuhs}]

The Album: Hob-knobbin' with the Wingding$

Produced by Matt Gray and Michael Hicks

Engineered by Matt Gray

About the Song:
Sisyphus was damned to an eternity of perpetual rock pushing by the ancient gods for falling in love with a woman who was already taken...once he gets the rock up the hill, he must chase it down the hill and continue the process, FOR ETERNITY!!! This song delves into this topic lyrically as well as musically. Sisyphus at one point says 'he's seen so many years, forget he's already dead'. This refers to the eternity he is witnessing. 'Here comes the rock again rolling on my head' shows us his constant pain he endures while damned. The bass starts the song 'up the hill', and then in the conclusion, the bass arrives at the same 'musical' starting point-the bottom of the hill.

About the Band:
Kickback Jack spent some time playing the college circuit in Bowling Green & Owensboro in the early to late 90's. Focusing on cover tunes by bands like Black Crowes, King's X, Cream, and Tom Petty; Kickback Jack developed a local following and eventually opened for several signed bands, including 80's rockers 'Firehouse'. Now based in Owensboro, Kickback Jack has begun work on their first CD of original material. "Kickback Jack - Hobknobbin' (HOB-NOBBIN) with the Wingdings" is being recorded in Owensboro at Gray Sky Music, and features the first release, 'Sisyphus'. Matt Gray, David Parks, Michael Hicks, Steve Malicoat...this is Kickback Jack with 'Sisyphus' .
